Karachi Political Diary

 Karachi Political Diary

Mubasher Mir

After a huge public gathering with Olympian Arshad Nadeem by the Governor of Sindh and showering of prizes, finally, the Chief Minister of Sindh also specially invited Arshad Nadeem to the Chief Minister's House and on the occasion of the Sindh Cabinet meeting, he awarded Olympian Arshad Nadeem with prizes. It was also announced that a selected city road will be dedicated to Arshad Nadeem' name while full cooperation will be given to him for the sports academy. The Pakistani hero is getting immense appreciation. In Sindh province there is a lot of government land on Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway, the provincial government should build an Olympic sports academy to train the youth from all over the province, thus many new talents will emerge in the future.

The Sindh Cabinet has approved many new projects, especially the allotment of space for three solar parks, once again there is a fear of resource wastage due to lack of planning in solarisation. Big Space should not be reserved for Solar parks because most of the domestic consumers and industry are also using their rooftops to get solar power, which does not require transmission lines, so it is not wise to spend resources on building solar parks. , while large housing societies can also get solar energy using their boundary, land is a very valuable commodity, should ensure to  increase agricultural production which could be  more beneficial, but like IPPs, solar is a costly move.
The Punjab government has announced the subsidy on the per unit price of electricity, the leaders of MQM Pakistan have strongly criticized and demanded that the subsidy be given to the entire country. Statements have also been exchanged between Mustafa Kamal and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Dr. Farooq Sattar has also criticized his coalition head party, MQM leaders say that more tax is being collected from Karachi but the announcement to give electricity subsidy only to  the consumers of Punjab is clearly excessive. It was that PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif announced it. He has been the prime minister of the country and now he is also the president of the ruling party, he could not be expected to speak only for the people of one province but it is also a fact that his party is limited to Punjab only. Its position in the provinces is negligible, so it has tried to strengthen its position in Punjab.
Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem Rehman announced a nationwide strike on 28 August, although his sit-in in Islamabad failed to achieve its goals, ending in a surprising two-week period.A few days later, Hafiz Naeem Rehman remained absent from the scene, it is speculated that there was internal dissension in his party, but the government succeeded in sending him home without conceding any of his demands. Now they are calling for a renewed protest. It seems very difficult for the public to accept them more, some trade associations will support them but they will face difficulties, August 28 will be a Saturday, the corporate sector will be closed anyway, so he Have chosen a safe day for his success.
Monsoon rains have intensified across the country. 189 people have died across the country due to the rains of the last six weeks, while another series of torrential rains continues. Sukkur and Larkana division have received heavy rains and last 77 years record has been broken in Sukkur. Life system has been paralyzed, dam  near Khairpur has broken water has come to urban areas. The victims of the last rains have not been fully settled yet, it was announced to build a house for them but that project has not started yet. Although the Sindh Cabinet has discussed it, many people are still homeless, now heavy rains have started, this series will also come in Hyderabad and Karachi, but despite the government's claims, no major steps are seen.
Although other political activities in the city of Karachi are muted as the camps of the opposition Tehreek-e-Insaaf seem to be completely silent, their leaders at all levels are not fully in the limelight, due to which other workers are also not active. But Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori created a stir in the stagnant water with his powerful speech.  According to him, Nizam e Mustafa is not prevailing in the country, so we are facing problems, while there were many times in the news to remove me, but I believe that power is not important, public service is important. I got the governorship on the 12th of Rabi'ul Awwal and it was a blessing for me.
