Karachi. Political Diary
Mubashie Mir
Workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Karachi had set up a protest camp outside the Karachi Press Club for the release of Imran Khan, which was demolished by the Sindh administration and their workers were also arrested. PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Shaikh has criticized that our workers were protesting peacefully but they have been arrested. He has also criticized the attitude and response of the then administration while recalling the May 25 protest.
Currently, there is a political government in the country and the People's Party is in power in the province of Sindh, it claims that even in the party that believes in democratic values. All political parties have the freedom to hold rallies and in Karachi also, but so far PTI is deprived of this democratic right.
MQM held a rally in Hyderabad to commemorate the Pakka Qila Operation and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui criticized the PPP government while PPP leader Waqar Mehdi also responded to it. In this way, these parties used their democratic right, but Sindh administration is not ready to give this right to PTI. Political parties should be on the same page regarding each other's democratic rights, but in practice this does not seem to be the case. Without political freedom in the country, the situation will definitely remain uncertain. The challenges that are being faced at the moment, if the attempt to suppress the opposition continues in the same way, then there will be no opportunity to walk together for economic stability. It seems very difficult if the government thinks that it will overcome the difficulties in this way. PTI workers are being targeted for the last two years which is against democratic principles.
Former Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan has announced to be dynamic and active. He spoke to journalists from abroad through video link. He also narrated some incidents of his time in which he presented his performance in a remarkable manner. He believes that he can play a political role without the help of the establishment, for that he is ready to come to Pakistan. Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan remained the Governor of Sindh for about thirteen years and then quietly left for Gulf after being replaced. Now he wants to play a political role once again. He should take care that his tenure is not remembered by the people in terms of his achievements, there was no achievement of his times that people want to admire him on. It seems that he is going to repeat the same mistake of the former President late Pervez Musharraf. General Pervez Musharraf also had the idea and then he got into trouble. Dr. Ishratul Abad is also not in a position to achieve political success.
Nasrullah, a journalist from Ghotki in Sindh, who was seriously injured in the murder attack, was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Karachi, finally died . His death was deeply mourned in journalistic circles. The Sindh administration is unable to arrest their killers. There have been such unpleasant incidents in Sindh before, a journalist Abdul Aziz was also killed. The situation is very bad for journalism, the problems of journalists have not been solved before, and after that they are being murdered.
The Provincial Ministry of Interior should take action on this and arrest the killers of journalist Nasrallah. While the relatives should also be helped. Pakistan is considered a dangerous country for journalists which is regrettable.
The electricity crisis has become severe throughout the province. Due to which there is a huge problem in supply of water. In such a situation, although the citizens are protesting, but the domestic consumers and industrial establishments are suffering from continuous problems. The Sindh Assembly is also critising on shortage of water and electricity. There has been talk of load shedding, but the provincial government has not been able to find a sustainable solution. The people of the city of Karachi are overwhelmed by the intensity of the heat, the same type of heat is being experienced in other districts of the province of Sindh, but in Karachi, due to the high humidity ratio in the air due to the sea, the intensity of the heat is felt more. . The government of Sindh has not been able to plant new forests across the province, which is why climate change is increasing every year.Stock
Market shares are bullish on the perception that economic activity is brisk, but industry is underperforming due to the power crisis. Due to the rise in interest rates, people have turned away from other businesses, hence there is a greater tendency to invest in speculation and bank profit.
The business community says that for industrial development it is necessary for the government to reduce the interest rate so that people try to run the industry. The agreement with the IMF has also not yet entered the final stages, which is why the federal budget is delayed. Some revolutionary changes are needed to improve the economy of the country, but the government is not showing courage in this.
